Too much time has passed

Mum has been really busy this passed year that she has not had the time to translate my messages for the computer. Last March/April she became a foster carer for Hunter Animal Rescue, since then we have had a continuous run of cats, dogs, kittens and puppies come and stay with us.

We have lots of photos to put up with a little story about them but will (maybe) come later. Mum has enjoyed fostering so this year she is doing a TAFE course in Animal Studies. It is keeping her very busy as she is also working fulltime. She is not currently fostering but now working behind the scenes with HAR as a Pound Coordinator. Sort of like a liason between HAR and the Port Stephens Animal Refuge. She goes out each week to see what is available for adoption and takes photos. They then go out in an email to other carers and helps the animals 'break out' of the pound.

I go out to the pound with mum. I like the drive because I can't walk very far now. One day I was talking to a BIG dog that lives at the pound - her name is Angel -  when another big BAD dog came up and attacked me. He got me around the neck and I screamed! He didn't let go and mum had hold of me and three other people had to try and get the bad dog off me.

I spent the night in hospital after having an operation to fix me back up. There were lots of tubes and stitches and I had swelling and bruising to my neck. I am much better now.

More Sylvester and Frank

Time Flies

Wow time flies! News is we have another addition to the household. In April 2010 mum went on a car run up to Gresford for the Billy Cart Derby (they close the main street of the town and race billy carts down the hill) and a young girl was walking around with a box that said "free kittens".... enough said. Mum said because Sylvester was inside all the hime he needed a friend.

Enter Frank so named for his beautiful blue eyes. He has now been in our household for one year and has grown up to be a beautiful pussy cat that likes doggies. Sylvester and Frank get on so well they eat out of the same bowl and wash each other. Some mornings they use the tiled hallway as a race track and go silly.

Happy New Year

Well, Christmas has been and gone for another year. Mum and I went to Cousin Ben's place. He is a little older than me and has gone deaf. Mum bought us some Christmas collars as it's summer time here and too hot to dress up.

Ben is a Shih Zhu cross, since he's a type of Terrier too then he must be a Terrier Cousin.

Here's a picture of me and Cousin Ben in our Christmas collars. Mine says 'Yappy Christmas' and Ben's says 'Santa Paws'. We even had ham for lunch like everyone else.

Sylvester

The day mum got the keys to our new place she also got me a new pussy. His name is Sylvester and he is black and white. At the time Sylvester was about 10 months old. He settled in really well but didn't like me at first, it took a few weeks then he realised that I wasn't going away, this was my place first and I like cats.

He likes water! Everyday he wants to play in the bath, mum has to turn the tap on so it just trickles and he tries to catch the water. We don't have a picture of that one yet but here is one of him in the hand basin. When mum puts a pug into the bath tub he takes it out and carries it around like a dummy. Sometimes he even goes into the shower with mum!

Here we are watching the world go by together:

I'm still here

Sorry I have been away for so long. Mum found a new place to live, she actually bought it so it is ours! We have been so busy doing some odd jobs around the place, mum works fulltime and I also go out for a daily walk every afternoon.

With the new house came a new pussy! A 12month old black and white cat called Sylvester, all for me to play with. He lives inside and doesn't come out. I will tell you all about him later when mum has a chance to get some photos together to show you.

On weekends we visit cousin Ben and cousin Sophie. I have a new cousin too - Pepper - she is a black little something very furry.
